WHY DO WE GIVE?
The work of the Lord requires the time, talent and resources of His people. Hopkins Community Church develops a budget each year that supports its missions and ministries; this work can only be accomplished through the faithful tithing and offerings of the congregation. Not only does this provide for the financial needs of the church, giving is a vital part of each believer's spiritual growth and maturity. Giving requires two things: faith and faithfulness.
FAITH
Giving is an expression of our faith that affirms God as our Provider and His ability to supply all that we stand in need of. We trust God by giving in faith. God promises to give every obedient Christian an overflowing, joyous life regardless of financial position. Jesus told his followers, "I came that they may have life, and might have it abundantly." (John 10:10)
FAITHFULNESS
Faithful giving is not always easy and can come with the everyday challenges such as growing family needs, a fixed income for retirees, job losses, unexpected major expenses, saving for retirement, and more. Hopkins Community Church is not going to tell you how much you should give. We just ask that you give what you are able to and out of what God has blessed you with.
HCC FUNDS
-
General Fund (supporting the ministry and missions of HCC, also known as the budget)
-
Capital Improvement Fund (funding the ongoing needs of our building, property, and other larger projects)
-
HELP Fund (ministry that seeks to help others in our church and the greater Hopkins community)
HOW TO GIVE
Anyone who would like to give online is welcome to do so through our church app, Church Center (by Planning Center). The system makes it easy to quickly transfer money from a bank account or credit/debit card to the church safely and securely. One-time gifts and recurring withdrawals can both be set up, and gifts can be given either to the church's general fund or a specific church project.
For those who prefer to give by cash or check, we continue to receive these gifts in person in any of the offering boxes that are set up in and around the church foyer.
Giving is an important aspect of the Christian life. After all, Luke records that Jesus himself said, "It is more blessed to give than to receive" (Acts 20:35). We want to encourage all members to pray about giving and to give as God leads them.
Download the Church Center app from your mobile device's app store (Apple or Android) and proceed to set up your personal profile so that you can make an online offering, or feel free to contact the Kathy in the church office (hcrc@sbcglobal.net) for help or questions with your giving through the site.
